We only install top quality equipment, this allows us to stand behind our work and warranty our services.  We also provide our borehole drilling services for ground source heating systems, working with the best installers across the UK to provide our customers with efficient and cheap heating solutions.

OUR HISTORY

Whatley & Co is one of the oldest companies in the Pewsey Vale and has been established for some 130 years and is still managed by the descendants of its original owners.

Having previously started the business of Whatley & Co in Wootton Rivers, George Whatley opened the Avonside Iron & Brassworks in 1875 (now the Pewsey Heritage centre which is located in the  middle of the village) to satisfy the growing demand for agricultural machinery.

Over the years there has been much diversification from the original business of heavy engineering.  As agriculture has evolved over the course of time, so has the engineering here at Whatley & Co - growing to include the manufacturing of heavy pumping equipment, hand water pumps and cast iron fabrications (evidence of which can be viewed in the stone foundry housed within Pewsey Heritage Centre).

During the war years the building was used in producing shell cases and other specialist hardware and more recently water engineering has grown and continued with the laying of pipelines, borehole drilling, irrigation and installation of of pumping equipment for (mostly) agricultural industry.

Jill and Tim purchased Hightrees on Salisbury Road and moved the company to the new site in 2005,  during the same year their son, Sam, joined the company.  Over very recent years the company has grown drastically, now incorporating an extensive vehicle workshop with 4 full time mechanics as well as the ever growing water engineering part of the business which currently employs 9 full time water engineers.
